Why Volunteer?
Being a volunteer with PTW is a great way to add value to your career by sharing your knowledge, passion and skillsets while connecting with other paytech professionals. Join PTW for a year of service.
Who Can Volunteer?
PTW volunteer opportunities are available for all current members to serve in a variety of short- and long-term positions. For most roles, no previous experience is required. We invite you to contribute your time and talents to the PTW member community.
How Do I Volunteer?
There are a variety of ways to get involved, including short-term opportunities as well as longer-term roles on our task forces and committees. Unless otherwise specified, most volunteer terms are January through December.
To join a volunteer group, please complete our volunteer interest form and select your area of interest. A volunteer priority leader
or staff member will reach out to you to discuss the role.
Current volunteer submissions will be considered for the 2024-2025 committee and task force appointments. Deadline for applications is Monday, February 12, 2024.

THRIVE: Focused on ensuring the unique value proposition of PayTech Women to the members and ensuring the organization, as well as individual members, are thriving.
Committees and Task Forces include: Business Development, 20th Anniversary, Member Recognition and Spotlights, Leadership Summit and Content such as our PayTech Women Live Webinars, Chapter in a Box events and Content Creation.
CONNECT: Focused on ensuring PTW members can connect and engage with others in the industry ensuring personal and company success.
Committees and Task Forces include: Member Recognition & Spotlights, Member Ambassadors, Inclusion Groups, Member Data Insights, Next Gen Community Group and PTW Chapters Advisory Committee.
Note: All volunteers will be required to sign a Disclosure Agreement before joining a committee or task force.
Micro-Volunteer Opportunities
These PTW volunteer opportunities are limited in scope and in time commitment. This is a great way to stay engaged, build your network and give back to the community.
Mentoring
Pay it forward and empower other women by volunteering as a mentor! Through our Mentoring programs, you can share your wisdom and advice to help other members navigate a career-related challenge or opportunity. You can be a mentor for a one-time, one-to-one,
confidential session with no long-term commitment. Explore how to propel another member toward success! Learn more.
Time Commitment: A minimum of one hour per session. Openings announced on an as needed basis.
Content Creator Committee
Do you love writing? Our bi-weekly newsletter,
PayTech News, welcomes contributing writers to share their industry insights, PTW event summaries and professional stories with the
PTW Community. To contribute your expertise and thoughts, contact
Anne Mendenhall,
VP, Marketing and Communications.
Time Commitment: Time it takes to write and proof 500 to-1,500-word article.
Leadership Summit On-Site Volunteers
Our annual Leadership Summit occurs each fall in Atlanta and to make it a great success, we need on-site volunteers to serve as room hosts, note takers, social media community managers, hospitality team way finders, gift bag organizers and more! Learn

Year-Round Volunteer Opportunities
Member Ambassador Committee
The Member Ambassador Committee seeks to empower every PayTech Women member to get every benefit we provide. Whether you are new member, or have been a member for years, a PayTech Women Member Ambassador can be one of your greatest resources. They personally
take time out of their busy workdays to welcome new members and guide them along their membership journey.
Time Commitment: One-two hours per month
Responsibilities:
- Actively engage in PayTech Women’s online community, Social Link, by posting content and engaging with members' posts by welcoming them to the community
- Personal reach out to new members via phone and email to welcome them to organization and help them become more engaged
Mentoring Committee
Assists with matching mentors and mentees. Creates strategy and implementation goals to expand our existing mentor program.
Time Commitment: Service on this committee is one term with an opportunity to renew for an additional year. The committee leader will meet with members monthly. As we receive on-going requests via email, committee members also assist with the
matching of mentors with mentees.
Senior Leaders Experiences Task Force
Service on this Task Force is by Invitation Only
Invite-only education. With oversight from the Past President Advisory Council (PPAC) and staff, this task force will plan invite-only executive level education and training sessions at the Leadership Summit. The task force will also establish a board
service training program for members. The task force will roll out our new retired membership (launching in early 2024) and identify engagement opportunities for industry retirees.
Time Commitment: Service on this task force is one term with an opportunity to renew for an additional year. The task force leader will meet with members monthly. Members on this committee are selected by the senior leaders committee.
Leadership Summit Planning Committee
Focused on producing our annual signature event! The Leadership Summit takes place each fall with a large team of volunteers behind the scenes who make the magic happen. If you love planning events, this is the committee for you! assisting with the opening
night, planning the breakout sessions, developing surprise-and-delight experiences for attendees and more.
Time Commitment: Approximately two hours per month including the monthly committee meetings. As we get closer to the Leadership Summit, meetings will take place on a weekly basis.
PTW ConneX Committee
PTW ConneX consists of small cohort groups that meet virtually and in-person. The Cohort experiences will take place pre-Summit, during the event and post-event. This committee will plan our networking experiences throughout the year.
Time Commitment: The committee leader will host monthly meetings leading up to the fall Leadership Summit.
Content Committee: PTW Live, Webinars, Chapter Events
Our events are not possible without volunteers. PayTech Women holds events monthly at the national and chapter level. Responsibilities include working with Jewel Hazelton, VP of Membership Relations and Content Strategy, to plan programming that covers
topics that are relevant and necessary for women in the payments and fintech industry to equip them with the leadership skills required to advance in their careers. Help is needed in brainstorming topics, securing speakers and promoting the events.
Time Commitment: Service on this committee is one term with an opportunity to renew for an additional year. The committee will meet monthly.
Member Engagement Teams
This area is focused on enhancing the PayTech Women experience. Volunteer opportunities include Member Recognition and Spotlight, helping facilitate the PayTech Women ConneX program, leading one of our Inclusion Groups and helping us capture better member
data and insights.
Recognition & Spotlights Committee
This committee is integral to our overall member engagement. They work to identify individual within the PTW membership who have a unique story to tell or are rising stars within our industry. This team of volunteers will work with the staff and a team
of volunteers across all the priority teams to craft stories for our website and newsletter. This committee will also find unique opportunities to recognize and celebrate members who are gamechangers in our industry.
Time Commitment: Service on this committee is one term with an opportunity to renew for an additional year. The committee leader will meet with members monthly.
Inclusion Groups Committee
Inclusion groups are an opportunity for members and allies of the community to come together and strengthen networks to enhance career opportunities. Each inclusion group is encouraged to provide one educational program for the PTW membership annually. PTW
currently has four inclusion groups that meet monthly: Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Pride/LGBTQ and Asian/Pacific Islander. Each of these groups are looking for volunteers to join the leadership team.
Time Commitment: Service on this committee is a one term with an opportunity to renew for an additional year. The Inclusion Group leader will meet with members monthly. Each group develops experiences that foster an inclusive and educational
community.
Member Data Insights Task Force
The Member Data Insights Task Force is integral to understanding the participation of our members and is responsible for segmenting the data into marketable data points. This group will identify needed data points and work to update systems to capture
this data and create meaningful insights for marketing and sales staff to use.
Time Commitment: Service on this task force is one term with an opportunity to renew for an additional year. The task force leader will meet with members monthly.
Networking Circles Task Force (Pilot Program)
The Networking Circles Task Force is responsible for launching and evaluating a pilot program to create and facilitate a network of support and connection for our members. This includes developing and implementing the PayTech Women Circles Program, identifying
a naming convention for the program, researching online networking platforms and developing resources to help members connect with each other in a virtual setting.
Time Commitment: Service on this task force is one term with an opportunity to renew for an additional year. The task force leader will meet with members monthly.
Business Development
Corporate Champions Committee
Service on this Committee is by Invitation Only
The Corporate Champion Committee members come together quarterly to discuss best practices for engagement of their staff and PTW. In addition, the group encourages interaction between internal women’s groups and PTW.
Time Commitment: Meets quarterly. Additional hours are required to build internal engagement with women in your organization.
Merchandise Task Force
This task force is focused on building our new PayTech Women online e-commerce store and identifying merchandise items available year-round and for donation at the Leadership Summit. Responsibilities include assisting task force lead and staff with brainstorming
ideas for online catalog of product selection; researching and identifying vendors for developing products; and working with the marketing team to develop product designs and oversee vendor licensing.
Time Commitment: Service on this task force is one term with an opportunity to renew for an additional year. The task force leader will meet with members monthly.
Business Development Task Force
Service on this Task Force is by Invitation Only
As a new 2024 initiative, this task force will discuss and advise on strategies to increase awareness, sharing information on new and existing marketing platforms to identify new opportunities for corporations to participate in PTW’s partner program.
Under the PayTech Women branding, partnership expansion broadens to include card acquiring, card issuing, fintech, financial institutions, credit unions, community banks, third party providers, venture capitalist and private equity firms. We will
offer customized business development training, allowing more confidence to engage in meaningful conversations that generate awareness and leads opportunities when attending conferences and when in discussion with vendors. By joining this task
force, you will directly impact the growth of PayTech Women, share best practices, glean new insights and network with diverse professionals within the PTW community.
Time Commitment: Service on this task force is one term with an opportunity to renew for an additional year. The task force leader will meet with members monthly.
Return on Investment/Proof of Performance Task Force
ROI Scorecards are critical to demonstrate the impact of investments from PTW’s corporate partners. As a 2024 initiative, PTW is forming a short-term task force with the aim of enhancing our current approach to scorecard metrics. We welcome individuals
with diverse backgrounds and experiences, as we believe a variety of perspectives will contribute to the success of this task force. We will commence with a review of the current process and areas of measurement and then analyze potential enhancements
based on the data we have available to work with. This may include determining additional quantifiable and financial metrics, stakeholder goal alignment, communications and effectively and efficiently presenting the data. Our current scorecards measure
professional development, member engagement and corporate marketing & engagement. By joining this task force, you will not only contribute to the enhancement of our scorecard metrics, but also gain valuable insights, network with diverse professionals
and be a driving force in shaping the future success of PTW’s corporate partnerships.
Time Commitment: Service on this task force is one term with an opportunity to renew for an additional year. The task force leader will meet with members monthly.
20th Anniversary Planning Task Force
The 20th Anniversary Planning Task Force is responsible for developing a forward-looking vision for our organization's 20th anniversary celebration and creating a comprehensive plan to bring that vision to life.
Time Commitment: Service on this task force is one term with an opportunity to renew for an additional year. The task force leader will meet with members monthly.
