KENT, Ohio – March 20, 2025 – PayTech Women (PTW), the leading non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women in the payments and fintech industry, is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Gail Burgos as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective February 3, 2025. This leadership transition coincides with PTW's 20th anniversary, marking two decades of significant growth and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) within the industry.

PayTech Women Appoints Dr. Gail Burgos as CEO

Dr. Burgos brings more than 25 years of experience in leadership roles focused on DEI and organizational development. Her career includes serving as Senior Diversity Officer at TSYS, a Global Payments company, and as Senior Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at 1st Sentry. After retiring from TSYS, she founded Burgos Consulting Group, Inc., where she continues to drive DEI initiatives across various sectors.

In 2021, Dr. Burgos played a pivotal role in establishing PTW's DEI Council, which prioritizes diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives for internal members, partners, sponsors and industry objectives. The Council's inaugural program, Member Inclusion Groups, provides safe, informal spaces for members and allies to network and share career experiences, reflecting PayTech Women's commitment to fostering an inclusive community.

Reflecting on PTW's evolution, Dr. Burgos remarked in the organization's new video, "The diversity! You look around, you see people of different ages, different ethnicities, different backgrounds and it's just this wonderful tapestry that has evolved over the years."

PTW Board President Audrey Blackmon, Senior Enterprise Sales Executive, Euronet, expressed enthusiasm about Dr. Burgos's appointment: "Gail's extensive experience and dedication to DEI align perfectly with our mission. As we celebrate our 20th year of service, her leadership will be instrumental in guiding us into the next two decades of empowering women in paytech."

Dr. Burgos succeeds Wendy Holliday, M.Ed., CAE, who has served as CEO for nearly five years. Holliday's tenure was marked by exceptional growth in memberships, partnerships and industry connections, significantly advancing PTW's vision of empowering and investing in professional women. She will support the leadership transition through April 1, 2025, ensuring continuity and stability.

To commemorate this leadership transition and PayTech Women's 20th anniversary, the organization has released a new video featuring insights from Dr. Burgos and other members of the non-profit. The video showcases PTW's journey and its ongoing commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive community within the payments space.
